The effect two chairs are brought onto center stage and unfolded, then positioned faec to face. A flat wooden stretcher is rested on their bakcs with a blanket draped over it. An audience member is invited to lay on the stretcher. The assistant is covered in the blanket and the chair under his/her legs is slowly slid out from under him/her, leaving him/her suspended atop the stretcher and balancing on the back of one chair. The best part you can remove the wooden stretcher that they are laying on whlie they are floating! Leaving him/her perfectly rigid, balancing by their neck only, on the back of the chair! Reda that again! You then put the stretcher back under the assistant, and the chair you took away, and the spectator (who never knows how it is done) gets up, takes a bow and returns to their seat while the audience gives you a standing ovation (i'm only kidding, but it has happpened this way for me). No assistant is required, an audience member can be used.
